Medical
Please inform us of any medical conditions you may have. We want to be able to plan the trip for your needs.
There are no shots or medications required for South Africa. However, we recommend you check with your family doctor prior to leaving for your trip. If you plan on hunting dangerous game outside of South Africa, please get a hepatitis and tetanus shot. Local health care is close by in the event of an emergency. |

What to pack
Temperatures are generally mild during our hunting season. Morning temperatures can dip down into the low 40's F and raise that same day to near 70 degrees F in June. Temperatures will reach the mid 80's in October with chilly morning temperatures.
A light jacket or fleece will keep you comfortable. Shorts or long pants are your preference. Light weight hunting boots or shoes are recommended. Soft soles with little or no tread work best for spot and stalk hunting.
Camouflage is permitted hunting attire in South Africa. M2D CAMO is perfect for our hunting conditions. Their pattern blends perfectly into the surroundings of the African Plains. Visit M2D CAMO.com to see their full line of camouflage. M2D is the official camouflage of Twende Safaris. |
Sparky Gemsbuck (left), and Libby Onyx (below) of M2D CAMO pose with their trophies.

Your Trophies
In house taxidermy services are available at our lodge through “Animals Alive Taxidermy.”
If you would prefer to take your trophies home to mount, we will have “Animals Alive Taxidermy” prepare your hides and horns, dip, pack and ship your trophies home to you (additional fees apply).
When searching for a taxidermist, be sure to ask if they have experience with African animals. If you would like a recommendation for a quality taxidermist, we would be happy to assist you with that request. We work with several excellent taxidermists that are capable of handling your trophies.
